EASTERN NEBRASKA - Additional flooding on the eastern portion of the state is leading to more roads getting closed along the Missouri River.

According to a news release, the Nebraska Department of Transportation says Interstate 680 is closed from the Missouri river to the I-29 interchange near crescent Iowa due to water over the road.

Because of possible increased traffic, officials are advising drivers to be extra cautious on highways between Blair and Omaha.

Moving further south now, Officials have closed US-159 at the Missouri State line east of Rulo, Nebraska, closing on the Nebraska side of the Missouri River Bridge. Officials say up to 6 feet of water was reported over some roads in that area, and water was starting to rise over US-159. There is no set reopening date, as closures are put in place until the water recedes to safer levels.
