Omaha, NE.-Plagued with problems reported extensively and exclusively by News Channel Nebraska, a group out to recall Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert is calling it quits.
According to the “Recall Stothert for a Better Omaha” Facebook page, as of late Wednesday they are “throwing in the towel” due to little funding and few volunteers.
In a parting shot the post notes that “while the citizens of Omaha are not being heard” its not enough to justify the cause.
Last week NCN's Joe Jordan was the only reporter on hand when recall leader Eric Scott walked out of the Douglas County Election Commission with 250 petitions, far fewer than would be needed to come up with nearly 35 thousand valid signatures to force a recall election.
