NORFOLK - A local baseball team is back in Norfolk after a trip to the Junior College World Series.
The Northeast Community College Hawks baseball team returned home today after its season ended at the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, Oklahoma last night.
This was the Hawks first trip to the World Series and it came in just the team's second year of existence.
An extra-innings loss by a score of 8-6 to the Mesa Community College Thunderbirds brought the Hawks season to a close last night.
The team went 2-2 at the tournament. Northeast officials say the Hawks will lose 15 sophomores to graduation. Nine of them are going on to play at four-year universities.
