Nebraska state troopers recovered a handgun Thursday at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.
Someone told troopers about 10:10 a.m. that there was a gun in a bathroom in the building, 301 Centennial Mall South.
Troopers recovered the gun, which was “mistakenly left” by an investigator with the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, the patrol said in a press release.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
Officials urge anyone who finds an unattended gun to report it to authorities.
