Beatrice Man Arrested After Alleged Protection Order Violations

BEATRICE - Beatrice Police have arrested a man after he allegedly broke into a residence and fled officers on foot.
Officers were called late Wednesday night to a residence on Bell Street, for a reported protection order violation. A man was suspected of breaking into the residence but fleeing prior to police arriving there. At around 2:38 Thursday morning, the man had returned to the residence, but fled again.
Police returned a third time to the home at 5:31 a.m., where the suspect had gone.
Police observed 28-year-old Joshua Weeks driving a blue Jeep and attempted a traffic stop. Weeks stopped his vehicle and fled on foot. Police said his driver's license was previously revoked for a D-U-I conviction.
At around 6:33 a.m. Thursday, an officer found Weeks hiding in a vehicle in the area where he had fled from officers. Police had to use a taser to subdue Weeks, after he reached for a hidden item later determine to be a socket wrench.
Weeks was arrested for three counts of violating a protection order, obstruction, resisting arrest, trespassing and driving under revocation.
