NORFOLK - Residents from the Northeast Nebraska gathered in Norfolk Friday to voice their concerns and get an update on road and bridge repairs from the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Topics discussed included current flood damage, federal funding, estimated completion dates and the upcoming planting season.
Farmers and ranchers expressed concern about the stability of county road detours when heavy machinery travels on them this spring.
NDOT Director Kyle Schneweis says the meetings are meant to hear the needs and concerns of people who don't normally have a chance to talk with department officials.
Officials at the meetings did say they hope all projects in district three in Northeast Nebraska will have contractors assigned by May and be aim for most to be completed by late fall or early winter.
