Kearney council member not seeking re-election
Tami James Moore served two terms as Kearney city council member
KEARNEY, Neb. --
After eight years serving on the Kearney City Council, Tami James Moore has decided to skip running for re-election this year.
Moore was first elected to the city council in 2018 when she was one of two chosen candidates. Moore went on to get re-elected in 2022.
The filing deadline for incumbents has expired and she was acknowledged by Mayor Jonathan Nikkila at Tuesday night's city council meeting for her time serving the community.
Moore says she's looking forward to fulfilling the remainder of her term over the next nine months.
