Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon joins vote blocking House rule on tariffs
GOP leaders argued courts should weigh in before further action

WASHINGTON — A Nebraska representative was among the key votes in a House decision related to President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
On Tuesday, the U.S. House rejected a procedural rule that would have blocked votes on resolutions challenging the tariffs through July.
Three Republicans including Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon, joined Democrats in opposing the rule, leading to its defeat.
GOP leaders said the U.S. Supreme Court should have time to weigh in on the issue.
Democrats are expected to continue efforts to bring forward votes aimed at repealing the tariffs.
At least three Senate resolutions addressing the tariffs have passed, but similar measures have not yet received votes in the House.
