Clippers Sweep Pioneers in Thursday Night Hoops

NEBRASKA CITY, NE - The Malcolm Clippers swept a road doubleheader at Nebraska City on Thursday, as heard on B103.


In the opener, the nearly perfect Malcolm squad kept its winning ways going thanks to the Dollivers, 61-38. Payton Dolliver hit for 24 points, while Hallie Dolliver dropped in 20. The Pioneers were only down seven after the first period, but a strong second quarter put them down 34-17 at halftime. Nebraska City was led by the eleven points of Kensie Briley, while Amiya Ellis ended up with ten. The Pioneers are now 5-14 on the season, while Malcolm is 19-1. On Saturday, NC will visit Omaha Gross Catholic, while the Clippers head to Aurora.


Game two was over early, as Malcolm started the contest on a 19-0 run and cruised to an 18-point win, 57-39. The Clippers got 18 points from Preston Kucera & 13 from Gavin Little. Kucera & Little each finished with seven rebounds & three steals. The lone double digit scorer for NC was Caleb Walker with 14. The Pioneers fell to 5-14 with the defeat, while Malcolm improved to 10-8. Neb City hosts Glenwood on Saturday, while the Pioneer guys are off until visiting Ashland-Greenwood on Tuesday.
