Hastings resident Darren James Price, 50, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2025 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, NE.

 

Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., with family present on Tuesday, December 30, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the church or to the family. Darren was born August 2, 1975, to James & Connie (Kershner) Price in Hastings, Nebraska. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1993. Darren married the love of his life, Penny Glause on August 17, 1996. He was baptized into the Lutheran Faith and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He worked for Sysco for over 20 years, earning multiple awards and being named Salesperson of the Month several times, demonstrated his strong passion for both his work and the food industry. Darren liked to help and see others succeed. He was always ready to meet a new friend and share in conversation. He was an avid Husker fan. Darren enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and boating. But the best times were spent gathering with friends and family making memories and catching the Big One.

Darren was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herb J Price, Cecil F. & Viola Kershner; his mother, Connie Price; his father and mother in-law Loy & Norma (Jeanie) Glause; and sister in-law, Sheri Glause.

 

Darren is survived by his wife, Penny Price of Hastings; daughters & spouse, Amber & Edward Serrano of Hastings and Abigail Price of Hastings; grandmother, Wihlma Price; father & spouse, James & Tammy Price; brothers & Spouses, Dale & Sandra Price of Hastings and Jason & Candi Price of Grand Island; brothers-in-law & sisters in-law, Cynthia & Chris Saltzgaber of Erie, Colorado, Randy Glause of Grand Island, Kevin & Sharon Glause of Palmer, Amy & Craig Harper of Prole, Iowa, Galen Glause of Palmer, Brian & Dorothea Glause of St. Libory, Joy & Bill Langrehr of St. Libory, Aaron & Michelle Glause of Malcom, Dawn & James Bunner of Clarkson, Nathan & Michelle Glause of Palmer, Elaine Glause of Grand Island, Clayton & Amy Glause of Fremont; former sister-in-law, Jackie Glover of Doniphan; step-siblings & spouses, Holly & Oscar Mthethwa of Alexandria, Virginia, Danny & Tanisha Kostman of Doniphan, Bailey & Daymian Kimberly of Superior; 50 nieces and nephews; and 65 great-nieces and nephews.
