Grand Island Man Arrested After Shooting at Troopers

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - A Grand Island Man is in jail after exchanging gunfire with authorities during a warrant search.

Officials say 43-year-old Justin Jelinek was arrested Wednesday morning.

The Nebraska state patrol says they were trying to serve a search warrant at a home on Grand Island's east side related to a child pornography investigation.

The N-S-P said Jelinek fired a gun from inside the home and a state trooper returned fire.

Officers say that no one was hit.

Authorities say Jelinek then barricaded himself in the home for about ten minutes before surrendering.
