WILBER, Neb. - The woman convicted in the killing and dismemberment of a 24-year-old has been sentenced to life in prison.

A three-judge panel announced Monday in Saline County District Court that 27-year-old Bailey Boswell will serve a life sentence for her role in the murder of Sydney Loofe in 2017.

The panel included Judge Vicky Johnson, Judge Darla Ideus, and Judge Peter Bataillon.

Bataillon was the dissenting judge in the verdict.

The State argued that Boswell deserves the death penalty because her role in the slaying was “especially depraved and heinous.”

The defense listed several mitigating factors, the most emotional being Boswell’s own plea for a life sentence so she can have a role in her daughter’s life.

Boswell's co-defendant, Aubrey Trail, has already been sentenced to death for the crime.

Investigators say Boswell arranged a date with Loofe, a Lincoln store clerk, through the dating app Tinder for November 15th, 2017 — the same day officials say Loofe was killed.

Her remains weren’t found until December 4th, when her dismembered body was found stuffed into garbage bags that had been dumped in a field near Edgar, Nebraska.
