Kearney has approved the sale of 16 acres of land which will bring a new data center.

KEARNEY, Neb. - The Kearney City Council has approved selling 16 acres of land for a new data center.
Shamrock data plans to build a 40,000 square-foot facility at Kearney's "Tech oNE Crossing Data Park", and is scheduled to open in 2027.
The center will process and store data locally, instead of relying on distant cloud servers.
The organization says it will bring faster service, lower energy use and stronger security for businesses and organizations that use it.
Several local companies have already signed letters of intent to become tenants, according to the organization.
