Kearney woman convicted of manslaughter in spouse’s 2024 shooting

Karen Geisler has pleaded no contest to manslaughter in the 2024 shooting death of her husband.

KEARNEY, Neb. - A Central Nebraska woman has been convicted of her husband's shooting death.

57-year-old Karen Geisler pleaded no contest to manslaughter in Buffalo County district court on Monday.

She was originally charged with second degree murder related to the shooting death of Jimmy Geisler in October of last year.

Details on the investigation have been sealed.

Geisler faces up to 20 years in prison when she's sentenced in October.
