Bernard S. Faber, 95
Holstein resident Bernard S. Faber, 95, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at his home.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 11, and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseland with Father Corey Harrison officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Military Honor Guard will be at Assumption Cemetery in Assumption. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. with the family present Sunday, May 11 at the church, and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Born August 10, 1929, in Campbell, NE, to Peter and Rose (Pittz) Faber, Bernard grew up with strong roots in his community. He graduated from Holstein High School and later received electronic training during his service in the United States Army, where he served from 1951 to 1953.
On October 29, 1955, he married Marie Roepker at St. Libory Catholic Church at St. Libory, NE, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, hard work, and shared values.
Bernard worked as a dedicated tool and die maker and machinist, known for his precision and craftsmanship. He was a proud member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseland, and actively participated in several community organizations, including the Holstein American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Grand Island, and the Lions Club Charter in Holstein.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rolland Faber.
