SIDNEY -- Spring is coming to Western Nebraska sooner than we think and it is almost time to begin testing the county's outdoor warning sirens systems.

Testing is set to begin at 10 a.m. on the last Wednesday of this month, March 26. After that the testing will be done monthly on the last Wednesday of every month through September, always at 10 a.m., unless the weather at that time is uncooperative.

As a reminder, we will not test sirens during inclement weather so as not to confuse or frighten citizens of the intent of the siren.
