VALENTINE, Neb. - American Idol contestant, Kate Watson, will perform in Valentine for the 8th Annual Chaduza Cook-Off on Sept. 6. Watson, who wowed judges including Lionel Richie during season 19 with her rendition of his classic hit “Hello,” earned a golden ticket to Hollywood and has since built a strong national following.

“It’s really exciting that we’re getting a fresh new face to the Valentine area who has performed on a national stage and has a strong national following,” said Valentine Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jenny Moore.

The Chaduza Cook-Off serves as a fundraiser for the Chamber, with proceeds this year potentially funding improvements to the local park, such as much-needed repairs to the playground.

Moore encourages you to mark your calendars for an evening filled with great food, entertainment, and community spirit.

"We will have divisions for chicken, pork, beef, and sides. The rules, entry fees, and prizes are yet to be determined," said Moore.
