Hastings Public Library Director stepping down after 15 years

The Hastings Public Library is bidding farewell to its longtime Library Director.

HASTINGS, Neb. – The Hastings Public Library is bidding farewell to its longtime Library Director.

Amy Dissmeyer is stepping down from the position she's held since Jan. 2009. She made the announcement at the Hastings City Council meeting Monday night. 

Under Dissmeyer's direction, the Hastings Public Library has received two gold and one silver rating from the Nebraska Library Commission since 2014. 

She also oversaw a multi-year $6 million renovation to the Hastings Public Library that was completed in 2017.

Dissmeyer is leaving Hastings to become the Library Director at the Spirit Lake Public Library in Spirit Lake, IA.

Her last day as Library Director in Hastings is Dec. 12.
