HASTINGS, Neb. – After being placed on leave earlier this month, the Hastings City Council will vote on the potential termination of City Administrator Shawn Metcalf on Monday.

On Thursday, the city council agenda for Monday, Sept. 23 was released.

Line 4B on the 'regular agenda' reads "Termination of Shawn Metcalf as City Administrator for the City of Hastings."

This means the city council will discuss and vote whether or not to relieve Metcalf of his duties.

Metcalf was placed on paid administrative leave on Sept. 4, which Hastings Mayor Corey Stutte cited as a 'personnel matter.'

He was selected as City Administrator in September 2022, and began his role later in December.

The Hastings City Administrator job is the top non-elected position in the city government.

The city council meeting is on Monday, Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hastings Municipal Airport.
