Kearney Regional buys land in north Kearney
A Kearney hospital is looking to expand its offerings in a new part of town.
By News Channel NebraskaKEARNEY, Neb. — A Kearney hospital is looking to expand its offerings in a new part of town.
Kearney Regional Medical Center announced Tuesday that it bought a tract of land at the corner of 2nd Ave. and 56th St. in north Kearney. The land is north of Pinnacle Bank and east of Hy-Vee. The hospital plans to call it KRMC Oak Park Campus.
“The purpose of the Oak Park Campus is to bring care closer to where many of our patients live, shop, and work,” KRMC Medical Director Dr. Scott Smith said.
The hospital does not have any immediate construction plans for the property. Hospital leadership is reviewing proposals from an architect and will share designs once they are finalized.
“We are excited to continue to expand our physical footprint,” CEO Doug Koch said. “The continued development of our programs is a direct result of the high quality and compassionate care of our physicians and employees. We look forward to bringing additional access and services to this expanding part of our community.”
Kearney Regional already has two offsite clinics: Platte Valley Podiatry and Platte Valley Specialty Clinic. Construction started on a $30 million addition to the hospital’s main campus in April.
