KEARNEY, Neb. — Middle school students in Central Nebraska are gaining experience as entrepreneurs.
The Kearney Community Learning Center at Sunrise Middle School hosted its annual farmers market on Wednesday at Hilltop Mall. The students spent their summer designing and building products through the program’s entrepreneur class.
They experienced the process of bringing their products to market, from concept to sales.
“For me, I’ve never sold anything in my life," 6th grade student Alyssa said. "So, right here right now, it’s probably going to help me in the future.”
“If it’s too cheap, it might seem like it won’t work very well," 6th grade student Zeke said. "If it’s too high priced, it might seem like it’s too expensive for what it is.”
The event was meant to highlight the students’ creativity and teach them valuable business skills.
