Nebraska State Fair artist cancels tour
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Organizers of the Nebraska State Fair are looking for a music act to fill a new vacancy in the fair’s concert lineup.
The fair announced Thursday that Ramón Ayala canceled his entire 2024 tour, which includes his scheduled Aug. 29 stop in Grand Island. A translated statement from Ayala’s social media says the cancellations are for reasons beyond his control.
A news release says fair organizers are working to secure a replacement.
“While we understand the disappointment that comes with the cancellation of a highly anticipated concert, we want to assure ticket holders that their tickets will remain valid for the replacement concert once it is announced,” executive director Jaime Parr said. “Alternatively, for those who prefer a refund, the option to request one will be available following the announcement of a new show or by June 21.”
Ayala, who is 78 years old, is known as “King of the Accordion” and specializes in Norteño music.
Additional details regarding the replacement concert, and ticket transfer/refund options will be announced to customers in coming days.
