HASTINGS, Neb. – Ryan Ohnoutka announced Wednesday morning he is stepping down as the Head Coach for the St. Cecilia Boys Basketball program, marking two coaching departures in Hastings in as many days.

Ohnoutka and the Bluehawks just finished their basketball season on Monday with a loss to Ponca in the Class C2 District Finals to finish with a 13-11 record.

Ohnoutka is the middle school's Language Arts and Speech teacher, as well as the high school's Varsity Softball Coach, where he will remain in those two positions at St. Cecilia.

He provided a statement to NCN Wednesday morning:
?
"It has been a privilege to be the head basketball coach at STC. I am grateful for the relationships and support that have come from that experience," said Ohnoutka. "Being the head coach of two sports back to back and then the summer commitments have led to this decision. Right now I want to put my energy toward our softball program."

Hastings Boys Head Coach Drew Danielson was the other Head Coach that announced his departure on Tuesday.

In four seasons, Ohnoutka went 56-43 with the basketball program and finished as District Runner-Up three times.

The St. Cecilia softball team has made the state tournament in all four years with Ohnoutka at the helm.
