A Doniphan teen accused of dozens of sex crimes will now only face 17 in a possible trial.
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Doniphan teen accused of dozens of sex crimes will now only face 17 in a possible trial.
On Tuesday, a Hall County District Court judge dismissed 31 of the 48 charges against 17-year-old Cody Holum. The dismissed charges included visual depiction of explicit conduct, child abuse, terroristic threats, possession of child porn and sex trafficking. Holum pleaded not guilty to the remaining charges, which include sex trafficking of a minor and first-degree sexual assault.
Holum has requested that the case be transferred to a juvenile court. A hearing on that motion is set for February 7.
The arrest affidavit for the case is sealed, but the criminal complaint lists at least 13 different victims and says the alleged crimes happened between April 2019 and October 2023. According to our news partners KSNB Local 4, the charges accuse Holum of blackmailing a girl by threatening to expose her nude photo if she didn’t allow him to sexually assault her. Another victim claims Holum threatened her family if she didn’t obey him.
Holum is in jail on 10% of $500,000 bond.
