HASTINGS, Neb. – Hastings Christian School will be the city's newest private school and will move into the current YMCA building on 18th St. this fall. Their school mascot is the Rams.

The school bought the building from the YMCA and plans to move in after the YMCA on 16th St. fully reopens. The current renovations are scheduled to be completed in May.

Hastings Christian School is planning to open in the fall for the 2024-2025 school year, but is still coordinating their school calendar with the public schools in the area.

It will be a private K-12 school and will only hold school three days per week, on Tuesday-Thursday.

According to the school's website it will offer a variety of courses in subjects such as mathematics, science, history, and language arts.

A member of the school board said Hastings Christian School will not offer athletics in their first year, but hopes to implement athletic sports in the future. They will compete as their school mascot, the Rams.

Hastings Christian School will be hosting an informational meeting at 6 pm on Thu. Jan 25 at the Hastings YMCA on 18th St.
