YORK - Eastbound I-80 was shut down Christmas day after a crash involving multiple semis completely blocked traffic.

The crash happened Monday morning amid a blizzard warning. A Nebraska Department of Transportation camera showed jackknifed semis completely blocking traffic...with dozens of vehicles stuck on the highway behind them.

Eastbound traffic was being diverted off the interstate north into York and then east into Waco.

There's been no word as of yet of any injuries.

The National Weather Service has been advising against travel on one of the busiest travel days of the year. York County is in a blizzard warning until 6 p.m. Tuesday. Forecasters were expecting four to seven inches of snow to fall Monday, with wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour creating whiteout conditions.
