GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- The Grand Island Chamber of Commerce is showing off its renovated look.

The Chamber has finished a renovation effort that started in March and remodeled the building's exterior and front office. The building hadn’t been renovated in at least 20 years.

President Cindy Johnson said she wanted to match the outside of the building to the energy of the people inside.

“We thought that it was very important to improve the exterior so that it did reflect what happens within the four walls of the Chamber of Commerce,” said Johnson.

The construction was done by Chief Construction and in total it cost around $330,000.

Johnson, who has been president for 20 years, said the organization's focus for the next year is workforce development and talent attraction.
