News Channel Nebraska to televise playoff showdown between Grand Island and Kearney

KEARNEY, Neb. — News Channel Nebraska will be showcasing the Tri-cities' biggest rivalry to a statewide audience Friday night.

KEARNEY, Neb. — News Channel Nebraska will be showcasing the Tri-cities' biggest rivalry to a statewide audience Friday night.

Grand Island (5-4) and Kearney (8-1) will meet in the first round of the Class A playoffs at Kearney's Ron and Carol Cope Stadium.

This will be the second meeting between the Islanders and Bearcats, with Kearney winning the first clash 10-7 back on Sept. 29.

Michael Shively and Andy Classen will have the call with live TV coverage starting at 6:45 p.m. CT. 

The game will be available to watch in the Tri-Cities on Dish (30), Allo (181), Spectrum (99 or 715) and over the air antenna in Grand Island (30.2).

The game will also be streamed online via the NFHS Network where viewers can watch with a subscription payment.
