Ethan Ciancio, Emma Bond voted UNK homecoming royalty

KEARNEY, Neb. – Ethan Ciancio of Fullerton and Emma Bond of Kearney are the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s homecoming king and queen.

They were crowned Thursday evening during a ceremony at the Health and Sports Center on campus. UNK’s homecoming royalty are selected by two rounds of student voting.

Ciancio and Bond will also be recognized during the homecoming parade scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday in downtown Kearney and the UNK football game set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Cope Stadium.

A senior in the pre-radiologic technology program, Ciancio serves as student body vice president and as a Chancellor’s Ambassador. He was a New Student Enrollment leader last summer and he’s a former Loper Programming and Activities Council (LPAC) executive member and Honors Student Advisory Board member. Ciancio is also involved in intramurals on campus.

Bond is a junior studying business administration with a marketing emphasis and a minor in multimedia. She’s active with a variety of campus organizations and currently serves as chair of UNK Student Government’s Facilities, Sustainability and Campus Development Committee, marketing co-chair for the Honors Student Advisory Board and homecoming co-chair for LPAC. She’s also a regular at the UNK climbing wall, either climbing or teaching others about this unique sport.

UNK’s other homecoming royalty finalists were Katie Cornelio of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Daylee Dey of Gresham, Kayla Nunnenkamp of Omaha, Ben Crocker of Kearney, Jonah EagleFeather of Hastings and William Otte of O’Neill.
