Kearney teen brandishes gun towards family, police say
A teenager is facing charges after police say he waved a gun towards people.
KEARNEY, Neb. — A teenager is facing charges after police say he waved a gun towards people.
Kearney Police say it happened at the East Lawn Trailer Court on Sunday night. According to a news release, investigators found that a 16-year-old boy drove by the residence of a 15-year-old when him and his parents were outside. Officers say the 16-year-old rolled down his window and brandished a gun towards the family. The investigation revealed the boys had been involved in an ongoing disturbance involving threats of violence.
Police say officers tracked down the 16-year-old and his vehicle and found a locked bag containing a handgun and suspected THC. Officers arrested the teen for terroristic threats and four weapons violations. He transported and lodged at Madison Correctional Facility.
