GIFD hosts fire hydrant party to cool down community
A central Nebraska fire department was doing its part on Thursday to keep people cool in the triple-digit heat.
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. – A central Nebraska fire department was doing its part on Thursday to keep people cool in the triple-digit heat.
The Grand Island Fire Department hosted a fire hydrant party in the Grand Island Public Library parking lot during the two hottest hours of the afternoon.
Firefighters opened up the fire hydrant and let locals cool down for free.
The fire department will be back in the library parking lot again Friday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
