GRAND ISLAND, Neb. --  Grand Island Police responded to a call that a child had eaten a Delta 8 THC gummy.

Officials said that the mother had allegedly taken all her kids out of the house, when she knew that GIPD and Grand Island Fire Department were on their way to the apartment, to hide the condition her son was in.

According to authorities, once they arrived, the mother denied the officers the chance to check on her kids.

Officials said the woman later walked to her mother's apartment, and got her son so he could get medical attention.

GIPD said that the woman had left her son with her mother, not giving her any information about his current condition.

The child's mother was arrested for intentional child abuse.
