HASTINGS, NE — A Hastings College graduate is being tabbed to run the school’s foundation.

The Hastings College Foundation Board announced Tuesday that Chelsea LeMar is the the foundation’s new executive director. She spent the past 10 months as associate vice president of the foundation and previously spent seven years as executive director of the Professional Women in Construction non-profit in New York.

LeMar holds an undergraduate degree from Hastings College and a Master’s in Public Administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science. A statement from the foundation board says members were impressed by her love of the school, her budgeting skills and her strategic planning experience.

LeMar replaces Gary Freeman, who left the post in June after nine years as executive director.
