HASTINGS, NE - The Adams Central Patriots held Grand Island Central Catholic to six first-half points and cruised to a 61-34 victory on Saturday afternoon.

GICC (4-11) managed a 2-2 tie but Adams Central (8-7) led for the rest of the game. The Patriots went on a 13-0 run from the final minutes of the first quarter to the middle of the second to build a 22-4 advantage. Jacob Stegman scored all of GICC's first-half points while Adams Central had six different players score in the half. The Patriots led 28-6 at the break.

The Crusaders picked up their defensive intensity in the second half but the Patriots hit enough shots to continue to pull away and give plenty of minutes to the bench players.

Adams Central held GICC's top scorer, Ishmael Nadir, scoreless. Jayden Teichmeier led the Patriots with 15 points and Jack Sughroue chipped in 11.
