GRAND ISLAND, Neb.-- A Central Nebraska nonprofit is hosting an extreme fundraiser.

This year’s  Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Nebraska annual fall fundraiser is called The Big Pains Big Gains challenge. They are raising funds and awareness via unique challenges.

The public donates to the member of their choice. Once they have reached specific fundraising goals, they will undergo painful experiences for the public’s entertainment.

They met their first goal on Friday, and board members got to walk through legos.

If they reach new goals, members will eat hot chips, fall into an ice-filled dunk tank, and experience the child birth simulator.

Their goal is to raise at least $20,000 by November 22.

The fundraiser challenge is from October 31 to November 22. The funds will go towards the organizations mentorship programs.
