Balanced Attack Powers Knights Past Yutan

NORFOLK - What started as "ground and pound" in the first half finished as an aerial circus in the 2nd, as Norfolk Catholic took care of Yutan 28-14 in the 1st round of the C2 playoffs.
The Knights' rushing attack, powered by TDs from Karter Kerkman and Kanyon Talton, staked NC to a 14-7 halftime lead. Chieftains QB Braxton Wentworth accounted for the only Yutan score in the 1st half with a 1-yard sneak.
Norfolk Catholic used their rushing prowess to set up play-action passes in the 2nd half, with QB Carter Janssen throwing scoring tosses to Mason Timmerman and Cameron Borgmann. The Knights built a 28-7 4th quarter lead, holding off Yutan despite a late Wentworth TD pass to TE Derek Wacker.
Janssen finished the night 8-of-8 passing for 120 yards and 2 TDs. Norfolk Catholic faces Lincoln Lutheran in the 2nd round next Friday.
