One injured in Merrick County rollover

Authorities in central Nebraska responded to a single-vehicle rollover that resulted in injuries.

SILVER CREEK, Neb. -- Authorities in central Nebraska responded to a single-vehicle rollover that resulted in injuries. 

The Merrick County Sheriff's Office said that deputies went to a single-vehicle rollover accident in the area of Highway 39 and 33rd Road north of Silver Creek. 

It was reported that an investigation of the scene showed that a red Chevrolet Impala was heading north on Highway 39 going towards 33rd Road, when it left the road, entered the east ditch and struck the embankment. 

Officials said the driver was taken by emergency medical to the hospital due to sever injuries they got during the accident.

The Sheriff's Office reported that airbags were deployed, but it's unknown if seatbelts were being used. 

Silver Creek Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene. 

The accident remains under investigation.
