GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- The name of a woman whose body was found in the trunk of a car on Friday has been released.

The Nebraska State Patrol said they identified the body as 49-year-old Michelle Roenz. Law enforcement had reportedly sent out an alert for Roenz on Oct. 13 from Harris County, Texas.

Officers said Roenz's body was found in the trunk of a vehicle that had fled an attempted traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Grand Island. This led to a pursuit.

According to authorities, the vehicle was driven by a 17-year-old male. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital and then taken to a hospital in Omaha. He received injuries from crashing his vehicle, which ended the pursuit.

NSO said they are working with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office of Texas for extradition of the minor after he is released from the hospital.

According to Texas authorities, the Roenz was the mother of the driver.
