OMAHA, Neb. -- Grand Island Central Catholic secured a boys Class C state track and field championship in dramatic fashion on Saturday.

The Crusaders came out of heat 1 to win the boys 4x400 meter relay in the final event of the day, allowing GICC to pass Battle Creek for the team title.

It was the only drama remaining as the state track and field championships came to a close, with North Platte St. Patrick's having already claimed a girls and boys championship double in Class D, while Chase County had secured a repeat Class C girls title.
