Teens cited in Grand Island drug bust

Three teens have been cited for drug charges following a drug bust Tuesday in Grand Island.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Three teens have been cited for drug charges following a drug bust Tuesday in Grand Island. 

A Grand Island police officer spotted a car parked in a parking lot on Bellood Dr. with five teen boys inside.

When the officer approached, three of the teens ran from the car while the other two stayed,

During a search of the car, officers found a backpack which was found to have a gun, more marijuana, packaging consistent with drug sales and a scale. 

GIPD said the teens were smoking weed in the car. 

The three were cited for numerous violations.
