SHELTON, Neb. -- Union Pacific crews were busy over the weekend responding to a train derailment near Shelton.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene at Willow Road and Highway 30, one mile west of Shelton around 6:00 Friday evening. Local fire crews were also dispatched.

A UP spokesperson says about 15 cars were derailed from a westbound train. The track was repaired and reopened on Saturday morning. There were no injuries.

Officials are still investigating what caused the derailment.
