GI woman killed in pedestrian-vehicle accident
A central Nebraska woman has died after being hit by a car over the weekend.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb.-- A central Nebraska woman has died after being hit by a car over the weekend.
Grand Island Police say it happened Sunday afternoon when a car driving on 4th Street stopped at the stoplight.
Police say the car had driven over the crosswalk line.
They say the victim, 52-year-old Rosa Chacon Ramos, was trying to cross 4th Street, but because the car was blocking the crosswalk, she went behind the vehicle.
At the same time, authorities say the 29-year-old driver realized he needed to back up to clear the crosswalk and started to reverse when he hit her.
No charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing.
