CENTRAL CITY, Neb. -- The Merrick County Sheriff's Office is crediting local citizens who stopped to help the driver in a one-vehicle accident in central Nebraska.

Deputies were called to Highway 30 approximately two miles west of Central City to investigate a one vehicle rollover accident on Saturday.

According to a Facebook post by the Sheriff's office, the investigation concluded that the vehicle involved was traveling east bound on Highway 30 when the driver lost control due to road conditions and entered the north ditch where the vehicle turned over.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained only minor injuries.

Central City Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene.

The Sheriff's office says passersby stopped to assist the driver before authorities could arrive.
