Grand Island man arrested on sexual assault

A Grand Island man is in jail after an arrest for first degree sexual assault on a child.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island man is in jail after an arrest for first degree sexual assault on a child.

During a forensic interview, the man’s stepdaughter disclosed that the 39-year-old man had sexually assaulted her multiple times throughout multiple states.

As of late Friday afternoon no charges against the suspect were listed in the state court database. First degree sexual assault on a child is a felony. The minimum sentence for a conviction is 20 years in prison. The maximum penalty is life in prison.

In the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, the man's name will not be reported.
