GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A convoy of yellow school buses could be seen driving through Grand Island Tuesday morning as a way to say thank you to the dozen of bus drivers serving the community.

Holiday Express Bus in Grand Island took the time to appreciate their drivers with a convoy through town, followed by complimentary breakfast and refreshments.

February 22 is National Bus Driver Appreciation Day, so company decided this way for all to say thank you to the drivers.

Carole Urbom, Director of Growth and Development for Holiday Express Bus, said it’s a small gesture of appreciation for the work they do.

“Once those kids step on the bus they become our kids,” she said. “It’s so important to us to transport them safely. Whether it’s school or activities. It’s just so important to us.”

The convoy route went up Highway 281 to Capitol Ave., then down Webb Rd. before returning back to Holiday Express Bus.
