BROKEN BOW, Neb. -- A central Nebraska third-grader is winning some cabbage, as in money, thanks an actual cabbage.

Aubrey Baltz of North Park Elementary School in Broken Bow won the Bonnie Plants Third Grad Cabbage Contest in Nebraska for growing a 10 lb. cabbage.

Bonnie partners with third-grad classrooms for the contest to get kids excited about gardening.

For growing the behemoth brassica, Aubrey wins a $1,000 scholarship.
