Along with products, they had a guest speaker Tuesday, Gov. Pete Ricketts. He addressed job opportunities in Nebraska more specifically in the Ag Industry.
"What I've come to talk about, the great opportunities to be able to talk to young people about the careers we have in agriculture," said Ricketts. "And that is hugely important for us here in Nebraska."
According to Ricketts, agriculture is the heart and soul of Nebraska.
"About one-in-four jobs in Nebraska are tied back to agriculture," said Ricketts. "That creates a lot of opportunities. In fact, the USDA says that every year we create nearly 60,000 jobs opportunities in agriculture, and agriculture related fields and its resources."
Ricketts said that Nebraska has an impressive resume for agriculture.
The Nebraska Ag Expo press release said, "As part of the Career Exploration Event, middle and high school students have the opportunity to learn about careers in the equipment industry, meet with leaders in ag technology and manufacturing, take part in a presentation on the career pathways in the equipment industry, learn about education and training, hear about INEDA’s scholarship program, and will hear from equipment dealers about how to get started on a successful career path in our industry."
Tuesday and Wednesday the event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursday the event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
