SEWARD - With Thanksgiving behind us, one eastern Nebraska community is ready for Christmas.
Seward's annual Christmas Festival is in full swing with activities running all day Saturday.
Two reindeer are the main attraction at the town square, with several local businesses also joining in on the fun.
LouAnne Mueri, of Mueri Drug, has been organizing family-friendly activities lie face painting, balloon animals, and reindeer food making for several years.
"For the kids is why I do it. Their little eyes just sparkle when you make reindeer food," Mueri shared. "This is what makes small communities the place to be right now and it's a lot of fun. It's the true Christmas spirit."
Hundreds attended the event, with the community putting on several more throughout the holiday season.
