Flood Communications, Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce celebrate heritage, media

RALSTON, Neb. -- The Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce met with its members Friday at Latino Legacy Restaurant. The event was sponsored by Flood Communications, which owns News Channel Nebraska.

Flood Communications CEO Andy Ruback says the company's mission is serving underserved groups, whether it be Nebraska's rural communities or its Spanish-speaking populations.

“We opened the first Hispanic newsroom for the region," Ruback said. "Another aspect that makes us proud is that we can contribute to the community through our mission and effort since we were recently able to raise thousands of dollars for Children's Hospital of Omaha in our radiothon. We are proud to be the first to address the needs of this great community." 

Flood Communications, recently named an Inc5000 company, provides radio and television services for English and Spanish speaking communities across the state.

“Our Hispanic community ranks 45th among the largest Latin American groups in the country. We are more in number compared to St. Louis, Minneapolis and Kansas City,” said Ruback, in his presentation to the members of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
