Woman arrested for firearm possession after unknown nature call
A woman in southeast Nebraska was arrested after police received a call where the nature was unknown.
LINCOLN, Neb. -- A woman in southeast Nebraska was arrested after police received a call where the nature was unknown.
Lincoln Police were called on October 8 at 7 p.m. to the 4600 block of Calvert on a nature unknown.
Police say that when they arrived, they spoke to 58-year-old Maria Chong Hunkins. She reported that she was being assaulted by an unknown person.
Officials say that Hunkins said she was with a male friend when a female acquaintance of the man assaulted Hunkins. It was state that Hunkins went into her apartment to get a .22 caliber rifle for protections.
Authorities say the officers found evidence that the rifle had been discharged within the apartment.
Police say that Hunkins was found to be a convicted felon which prohibits her from possessing firearms.
Hunkins was arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. The firearm was recovered.
